If you live in a city or town, traffic is a usual sight for you but you cannot get used to it. Traffic is annoying and frustrating but thankfully these days you can do something about it – consider buying electric scooters. Electric scooters are becoming famous because of the many benefits but mostly because of its portability and maneuverability.

With electric scooters around, you can easily reach your destination. If you scour the market, you can find scooters with a lithium-ion battery that offers an impressive battery life giving you a maximum range of up to 50 miles – under normal conditions.

Before anything, you should understand electric scooters. To help you get started, here are the different parts of the scooter and the accessories:

Scooter parts

    • Handlebar: the handlebar is designed to help you maintain your balance. It can also help direct you in a specific direction.
    • Motor: the motor is the part that powers the wheel and the whole machine. Typically, motors are put below the base. When it comes to motor, keep in mind that the more powerful it is, the better it has to offer particularly in speed.
  • Wheels: two wheels can support the rider and the ride. In most cases, electric scooters come with 8-inch wheels. However, there are also 12-inch and 14-inch wheels you can choose from.
  • Brake system: essentially, the brake system is an important safety measure that can slow or stop the scooter.
  • Suspension system: if you are after a smooth ride, the suspension system is important.
  • Clamp: through the clamp, you can adjust the height of the handlebar.

Scooter accessories

  • Seat: if you travel long, it can be an additional benefit if you install a seat on your scooter. You have to check this with the manufacturer though because this can add weight to the overall product, which in turn can affect your range.
  • LCD monitor: you can also choose to install an LCD monitor. This monitor will serve as your dashboard.
  • LED lights: LED lights are important safety measures. Ideally, the scooter should have a built-in light or at least installed with reflectors. These lights are crucial if you do a lot of night riding.
  • USB port: if you forgot to charge your phone, a USB port in your electric scooter can come in handy.
  • Speaker: if you love to be inspired by music while riding, you can always opt for electric scooters with a speaker.
  • Luggage basket: finally, you can consider scooters with luggage basket. It is an ideal option for those carrying many things to and from the office.

Final words

Before buying, you must know the different parts of scooters for safer and well-informed rides.  If in this case, the scooter does not have all the parts mentioned above, it is not recommended to invest in them. When it comes to choosing the accessories, make sure that it can substantially improve your riding experience otherwise it will be a complete waste of money.
